by - source: Tom's Hardware US

Smashing zombies is the best thing ever.

In what is unusual in the modern world of PC and console gaming co-existence, the sequel to a best-selling console game is headed to the PC.

Announced at Microsoft's X10 event is that Dead Rising 2 will be shipping for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC platforms on August 31, 2010.

To commemorate the event, Capcom released a new trailer showing off gameplay segments that are mostly composed to giving the beatdown to zombies. Check it out below!

No offense, but if A Praying Mantis Attacks Computer Screen is the extent of the gameplay then count me out.... ;)

Yeah I certainly hope the $680 I sunk into a 5970 allows me to see that praying mantis in all its glory!

I was very disappointed in the game play shown. Needs more praying mantis.

Ya seriously. I mean we all know what would really happen. If one praying mantis couldn't get the job done 100 would show up in no time.

Looks to be the best game ever! totally worth buying, if only for the praying mantis. The added advantage of it being violent in the case of images on the screen just adds to the attraction!

Hah, sorry guys -- the video embed process in our system is a little more involved than just pasting the right YouTube link. It should all be fixed soon with zombie mashing galore!

You know, I'd gladly trade the loss of Alan Wake for this game..... Although both would be better... :)

Seems like Capcom is liking their profit margins on the PC scene. Now I hope for Super SF4 on the PC as well. :)

=)

I loved the first game, It was awesome. nothing like kicking ass with a foam padded bat while wearing a giant lego helmet.
Also, the lawnmower was pimp.

I don't care for the character though. The chainsaws also don't look badass enough.

Whacking zombies. We've never seen that before. Looks pretty pointless.

On the plus side, they didn't forget the PC!
