Seven of NVIDIA's Latest and Greatest Cards Tested
Asus GeForce 7800 GTX Extreme
The feature set of the GeForce 7800 GTX is identical to that of the smaller GT version. It uses a single-slot cooling solution, with the cooler itself consisting of the fan, an integrated heatpipe and cooling fins. Again here, two of the four memory modules are cooled by the fan's airflow. The two modules above the GPU are connected to the main heatsink by a heatpipe. The PCB is likewise reinforced by a thin sheet of steel that runs the length of the card.
Feature Set
Asus ships its Extreme GeForce 7800 GTX with the same generous bundle as the GT model. It too has software, various utilities and a video breakout box that features TV-In, TV-Out and HDTV connections. Power Director 3 is included for video recording and editing tasks. The Asus card features two DVI-I connectors, letting you attach any combination of two digital flat-panel monitors or two analog CRTs (using the included adapters).
