Seven of NVIDIA's Latest and Greatest Cards Tested
Noise
The fanless Gigabyte 6600 GT, with its Silentpipe-II cooler, is very pleasant and completely silent. With its Core Cell 3D Center, MSI enables users to underclock the card and even turn off the fan, which is very handy for office tasks and during Internet use. Thanks to its 120 mm fan running in 7Volt mode, the water-cooled eVGA card is both cool and quiet. The one-slot cooler found on the ASUS 7800 GT is quite loud; Gigabyte's card with its Zalman cooler is an interesting alternative that is a good 10 dB(A) quieter.
