The Steam Hardware Survey results for November 2022 see a new GPU sitting at the top of the chart, sort of.

Combined desktop and laptop puts the 3060 at the top of the Steam charts

The August Steam Hardware Survey indicates Nvidia's RTX 30-series GPUs are the most popular among gamers now, followed by the GTX 10-series.

AMD’s CPU share on Steam grew 2.22% last month. However, the Red Team’s best growth in GPUs came from the Radeon RX 6800 XT, which climbed just 0.19% in July.

Windows 11 showed good gains among Steam users last month, up 1.64% to 21.23%. However, it is far from unseating Windows 10 on 71.26% of user machines.

Recently, the graphics card upgrade compulsion has been harder to resist thanks to prices dropping towards MSRPs and below. Mid to high-end GPU customers have benefitted most from this trend.

And in a single stroke, the Radeon RX 6600 XT becomes the most popular RDNA2 GPU in the survey. We also note that nearly 40% of Steam gamers on Mac are now using M1 processors.

AMD CPU share bounced back to hit an all-time high

The latest Steam Hardware Survey shows a large jump in Nvidia share, and a corresponding drop in AMD and Intel shares of the GPU market.
