USB 3.0 HDD/SSD Docking Stations Launch

Thermaltake jumps in on the USB 3.0 bandwagon with its own line of USB 3.0 docking stations. Suitable for tossing in your favorite SATA 3gb/s HDD or SSD, the docking station makes it easy to attach and remove traditional hard drives without an enclosure.

As of right now, the current model from Thermaltake only has a slot for one drive, but the company indicated that it would follow-up with a dual-drive station.

The stations support full hot swapping without the need to turn off the unit. Demonstrating a 528MB file transfer to a Patriot Memory 128GB Torqx SSD, the station was able to complete the write in less than 6 seconds.

Availability date is going to be sometime in the second half of February.

    You mean transfer a 528MB file in under 6 seconds? (+/- 88MB/s @ 6 sec)
I come here to feel smart. :D

That test bench looks unusable with stuff spread out like that. I usually keep chassis off to one side and enough room to move mice around instead of going for some goofy V-shaped clutter.
