Seoul (South Korea) - Toshiba Semiconductor President Shozo Saito predicted that all laptops will be using solid state drives by 2011, reports Tech On. He noted this in a speech at a seminar hosted by IDEMA Japan.
Currently,the MacBook Air is available with a 64GB solid state drive (SSD), butit costs a whopping 3,000 bucks. But this price-capacity ratio willchange if Saito’s predictions are on target. He forecasts that the NANDflash memory market will expand 133 percent on average every year from2006 through 2010
