Nvidia Shows iPad-beating Foxconn Tegra 2 Tablet
Nvidia Tegra 2 tablets could be the real deal.
While the Apple iPad may be the hot tablet on the market today (or at least headed soon to your market), it won't be the only game in town.
Engadget went hands on with a Foxconn-manufactured tablet that packs Nvidia Tegra 2, which means that its guts are already ahead of what's inside the iPad. The Tegra 2 uses a dual-core Cortex A9 chip running at 1GHz and the prototype packs 1GB of RAM, giving it four times the memory over Apple's device.
The tablet features an 8.9-inch capacitive touchscreen display and ran some form of Android. Demonstrations showed some rather impressive 3D graphics, which we can attribute to the Tegra 2 as well.
Right now this appears to be a prototype device showing off what Nvidia's hardware can offer in the tablet space, but hopefully an OEM will jump in soon to stir things up.

... be paid for in cash?
Is the screen smaller than the iPad or does it just look it?
... be paid for in cash?
I can understand your confusion somewhat, but it's all about the well-placed hyphen.
Ipad beating Tegra.
and
Ipad-beating Tegra.
See the difference?
I didn't understand at first.
Why would nVidia show the iPad beating the Tegra 2?
It should be titled:
"nVidia Shows Tegra 2 beating the iPad"
OR
"nVidia beats the iPad with Tegra 2"
OR
"nVidia Tegra 2, Better than iPad?"

The title is fine, the hyphen changes the meaning of the title to mean that the Tegra 2 won. Punctuation marks are there for a reason
The statement can be confusing on the typical quick read expected of an article, but the phrasing is technically correct, and says exactly what it's supposed to.

"Ipad-beating": That beats the Ipad
Excatly, i can't wait.
2) screen is the cheap kind that netbooks use
Who cares if an ugly contraption is using a 30% faster A9 and plays 1080p HD? The A8 seems plenty fast in the iPad implementation. Would rather settle for 720p (on a 9 inch screen) and avoid the risk of a movie looking over/under exposed when placed on my lap. It's a big usability thing for a tablet compared to a notebook with a hinge.
