Need a wired keyboard for PC gaming? Logitech G has the answer
Going wireless might give you a clutter-free desk, but when your battery dies, it’s game over. A wired gaming keyboard, on the other hand, is always ready to go. You can plug it in and forget about it, leaving you to worry about your next match, not your keyboard's battery levels.
A Logitech G keyboard won't force you to compromise speed, specs or fun. The Logitech G316 X is the affordable starting point for players, while the G512 X models give you plenty to fine-tune. Whichever model you choose, you’ll have the room to experiment and find what works best for you.
The rundown
- The affordable Logitech G316 X gives new PC gamers a fast wired keyboard they can easily make their own.
- Both G512 X models let you alter how far a key travels before it responds, opening up new techniques to learn.
- Replaceable hardware and separate game profiles give Logitech G keyboards serious flexibility to adapt when your tastes or games change.
Plug it in, and then make it yours
First-time gamers deserve the same level of flexibility as seasoned pros, and the right wired keyboard can grow with you. With Logitech G keyboards, that choice is baked in from the beginning.
The Logitech G316 X is the perfect board to kick-start a lifetime in gaming. It can deliver serious speed, with an 8kHz report rate and a 0.125ms response time. You can pick linear or tactile switches from the outset. There’s still plenty of room to experiment once you know what you like. You don’t have to stick with any of it, either. Its mechanical switches are hot-swappable, so you can pull them out and replace them at any point. If you start with linear switches and decide you need a tactile bump, you don’t need to replace the entire board.
You’re free to stamp your personality on it, too. It ships with PBT keycaps, which are hard-wearing and resistant to shine, but you can replace them all. It also has per-key Lightsync RGB lighting and a 30-zone lightbar that you can customize using the G Hub app. Underneath the board, the G316 X’s gasket-mounted design and sound-dampening layers will allow you to enjoy taps that sound and feel smooth and satisfying.
Struggling to find the controls you need? The dial and dot-matrix display on the G316 X will allow you to easily switch up your brightness, volume and speed settings. Thanks to Game Mode, which blocks the Windows key while you're playing, You’ll be protected from in-game catastrophes that send you back to the desktop.
Give yourself something new to learn
Need to go a little deeper? With the Logitech G512 X, you can make your own rules. First, pick your size: The G512 X 75 is small and ideal for tight workspaces. Meanwhile, the G512 X 98 goes (almost) full-size, keeping the numpad in for you to use. Both have the same specs, so you’re not losing any functionality.
This is a board built for you to mould into your own. 39 dual-swap switch beds mean you can mix and match mechanical and TMR analog switches, giving you ultra-fine input control for the keys that really need it. With these analog switches in place, you can set the actual point from as low as 0.1mm to 4.0mm.
You aren’t limited to a single key command. Multipoint actions allow you to set multiple commands per key, and SAPP rings give you a tactile bump for the second actuation point. G Hub lets you go even further, with custom game profiles, including presets from other players, to help you get started.
These wired Logitech G keyboards prove that going wireless isn’t always the right way for players. Thanks to the G316 X, you can start with an affordable, personalized setup, while the G512 X gives you analog controls for fine-tuning. After all, your skills won’t stand still, and your keyboard shouldn’t, either.
