QOTD: Are You Considering the Palm Pre?

Tomorrow as wireless stores open across the U.S. the Palm Pre will be an official player in the smartest-of-phones market.

Unlike buying a PC or even a dumb phone, buying a smart phone is buying into an entire ecosystem with the advent of application stores and other online options. If you’re a diehard Google cloud user, the Android is the one to beat. For someone already committed to iTunes and the App Store, the iPhone is it. Business users have had BlackBerrys grafted onto them for years already.

But tomorrow, Palm hopes to rise from the ashes as a major player with its Pre phone. Those stuck to Sprint’s network have no better option, but those free to move around will have decisions to make this year with a new iPhone around the corner and numerous Android handsets to follow.

The reviews have already hit the mass media (check out Gizmodo’s cleverly organized review summary), and the consensus is that it’s a brilliant first effort from Palm but not perfect.

So the question of the day is: Are you considering the Palm Pre as your next phone? Why or why not?
