AOL improved its security software portfolio in an effort to differentiate itself from other internet service providers - mainly services that offer online access for less money. The new "Safety and Security Center" translates into automatically updated anti-virus software, spyware protection, a firewall, and phishing protection, which AOL promises to especially protect broadband users "from new and emerging threats."
The software is available to AOL members who are using AOL client software version 8.0 or higher free of charge.
