Via launches low-power Epia Mini-ITX motherboard

Via introduced a new series of C7 processor based power efficient compact motherboards. The manufacturer claims that the Epia CN family, built in a Mini-ITX form factor, consumes just 16 watts on average - including CPU.

The board can carry C7 processors with speeds ranging from 1 to 1.3 GHz and the CN700 chipset, which integrates Via's Unichrome Pro 2D and 3D graphics accelerator. The Epias also support up to 1 GB of DDR2-400 or DDR2-533 memory, native SATA II RAID 0 and 1, and 10/100Mb/s broadband Ethernet.

Via said that the new boards will be available "in limited quantities" this month.
