3D Studio Max is nearly completely reliant on CPU performance, and a an elapsed time of one minute, thirty eight seconds for a 1920x1080 resolution rendering of our dragon character seems about right.

14005 3D Marks at default settings is enough to make high-end system owners of less than two years ago cry.
There isn't a lot of data floating around Tom's Hardware Guide reviews to compare the SPECviewperf 9 performance to...yet!
