A Comparison of 34 Coolers for the AMD Athlon XP
Springspread/ Neolec Vento III & Unique2800
Springspread has entered the running with the Vento III and Unique 2800. In English- and German-speaking countries, these products are marketed under the Neolec label.
Sharp(-edged) Stuff: Vento III
The basis for the Vento III is an aluminum cooler profile. To ensure swift temperature equalization between the die and cooler, the contact surface has a circular copper inlay.
The contact surface is very smooth and polished to a mirror finish. The cooler is easily installed with the aid of the simple clip. On the negative side, the extremely sharp edges of the aluminum profile were noted. The noise level of the Vento III is a tolerable 48.3dB(A). With a thermal resistance of 0.49°C/W, its cooling capabilities are fine. The maximum die temperature of the Athlon XP 2400+ CPU was 57°C. All things considered, the Vento III left a good impression.
