At first glance, the MF018-021 is hard to tell apart from the MF014-021.
Fitted on the base of the cooler is a pad made of T725 by Chomerics.
If viewed from the side, no difference can be seen. It is only when you take a look at the base that you notice that the edges have been planed down. Measuring 13 millimeters, the ventilator is three millimeters thicker. In return, the measured speed of 4700 rpm was around 1100 rpm less.
Both result in a slightly greater weight of 304 grams and a slightly poorer cooling capacity: the die temperature at full capacity stood at 55°C. The thermal resistance was calculated at 0.45 K/W. At the same time, the noise level, at 50.2 dB(A), was significantly lower.
