System Builder Marathon, December 2010: $2000 PC
With all of your feedback from last quarter's System Builder Marathon under our belts, this time around, we attempt to fit a no-sacrifice, luxury and performance build into our moderately-high $2000 budget. Will this new build succeed on all fronts?
Benchmark Results: Crysis
The memory bottleneck previously seen in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 isn’t so apparent in Crysis, yet the current system’s GeForce GTX 470s barely outperform the previous machine’s GeForce GTX 460s in spite of the newer machine’s far higher CPU overclock.
All configurations play Crysis at Very High details and every resolution. We even checked the lowest results to confirm a minimum of at least 20 FPS before making that statement. Perhaps its time to take these machines down a notch by enabling anti-aliasing, too?
