Believe it or not, but smartphone and tablet chips today can pump out some pretty decent graphics. Rage HD from id Software proved that last month and today we have a new piece of software that shows off what that PowerVR SGX 535 chip inside the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 (and their iPod touch equivalents) and the iPad can do.
Chair Entertainment today released Infinity Blade, which is powered by Epic Games' Unreal Engine 3. Infinity Blade an action RPG sword-fighting game that is focused on sword battles and one-on-one boss fights set in the realm of a fully 3D castle.
“With ‘Infinity Blade,’ ChAIR has created a truly next-gen mobile gaming experience with stunning visuals and innovative gameplay designed specifically for the large, high-resolution display and Multi Touch interface on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch,” said Dr. Michael Capps, president of Epic Games. “ChAIR has a knack for making history with Unreal Engine 3, and they've done it again, this time bringing an experience on par with console games to handheld gaming devices. We’re excited to get ‘Infinity Blade’ into the hands of gamers everywhere and hope they have as much fun playing the game as we do.”
