A host of forthcoming games will be unveiled this week at E3 2006, all of them vying for the attention of conference goers, gamers, and potential buyers. This year's crop of titles poised to make their debut at E3 will leave no stone unturned. Several new games are expected for Xbox 360, while a number of new MMORPGs will be teased at the show.
And attendees will get a glimpse of next generation games in the works for Nintendo Wii and PlayStation 3. From MOORGs (massively open online racing game) to WWII/Sci-Fi RTSGs, this year's conference is sure to feature a few eye-opening demos and intriguing previews. Here's a look at a handful of the notable titles hitting the big stage at E3 this week:
Scarface: The World Is Yours (PC, PS2, Xbox)
Another big title from Vivendi Games, the game adaptation or the classic film Scarface makes it debut at E3 this week. Scarface: The World Is Yours features perhaps the largest and most diverse celebrity cast ever assembled for game. From Oscar-nominated actor James Wood and comedian Ricky Gervais of "The Office" to NASCAR drive Dale Earnhardt Jr. and rapper Ice-T, the game's producers appear to have nabbed everyone but Scarface star Al Pacino (though Pacino did authorize the use of his likeness and singed off on the voice-actor who plays the iconic gangster Tony Montana).
The World Is Yours is scheduled for a fall release and will put players in the role of Tony as he rebuilds his criminal empire.
Test Drive Unlimited (PC, PS2, PSP, Xbox 360)
Atari's racing game series is back on the track - several tracks, actually. Test Drive Unlimited, already schedule to hit Xbox 360 and the PC in the fall, will also be coming to PS2 and PSP, according to Atari.
In fact, Test Drive fans will have a chance to get behind the wheel this week, thanks to an Xbox 360 demo version that will be available via Xbox Live Marketplace until May 14. The game, which takes place on the scenic island roads of Oahu, is being branded as the "world's first MOOR (massively open online racing) game" by Atari.
