Revving up in the New Year: AMD Athlon64 3400+ versus Intel P4 3.2 GHz
Overclocking: Looks Good!
We achieved 2,367 MHz with our specimen Athlon64 3400+.
Of course, we also have to take a few stabs at overclocking each new processor we get our hands on - including benchmarks. After a little bit of fine-tuning, we made do with a HyperTransport speed of 215 MHz and a processor speed of 2,367 MHz, which could be operated stably. These values aren't bad considering that the production process based on AMD's current 0.13-µm technology are viewed as fully developed.
We included the results for the overclocked Athlon64 3400+ in our benchmark graphic, represented by the black bar.
