Sapphire Gets Hot by Going Cool

Test Setup

We have noted that at the time of testing, we had the Toxic set to stock speeds. We were then sent a BIOS update for the card, but for some reason the flash utility would not detect the correct graphics port for us to perform the flash. To get to the correct settings, we used ATI’s Catalyst Control Center to force the correct clock frequencies for the core and memory. This hindered us from doing any additional overclocking, unfortunately, so we were unable to see just how far the cooler could allow enthusiasts to push their cards. We hope to have a final production version in for testing soon, so we can see what this unit can really do.
