ATI releases catalyst 6.2, second Vista graphics driver
Source: Tom's Hardware US – Category : Miscellaneous 0 comment
ATI today released the download of the second Catalyst driver update for 2006. Catalyst 6.2 brings the usual list of bug fixes for games (BattleField 2, Half-Life 2, World of Warcraft) and applications (AutoCAD, Windows XP MCE, HDTV). However, Catalyst 6.2 is also the first driver update to support ATI's latest graphic chip X1900 and graphic cards carrying the X1900 XT, XTX and Crossfire version of graphics processor.
One of the more dramatic changes in the driver is a new wizard-based user interface for the Catalyst Control Center, which simplifies the configuration of common tasks.
Catalyst 6.2 is available for download in the Driver and Software section of ATI's website. Users, who are beta testing Windows Vista, may also want to check out a new driver for the operating system. ATI just released its second Catalyst beta driver that is optimized for Windows Vista Build 5270.
