Pretec intros 2 GByte miniSD memory card

Next news
11:59 AM - December 5, 2005 by The Editors of Tom's Hardware

Pretec announced the first miniSD memory card with 2 GByte capacity. The device runs at common NAND Flash power consumption data and a supply voltage of 3.3 V. In read mode, the card consumes less than 25 mA, in write mode less than 30 mA, Pretec said. 2 GByte of space provide enough room for about 500 MP3 digital audio tracks or 650 5-megapixel digital images. 1-megapixel cellphones integrateing a miniSD slot can store more than 4000 images on Pretec's new card.

While the memory card is expected to be available worldwide, we found the 2 GByte version so far only in Europe for prices around $300.
