The MythTV Convergence: Unofficial Plug-ins

MythCalendar

MythCalendar provides a simple graphical tie-in to the MythTV frontend for quick at-a-glance viewing or scheduling of events. Daily schedule viewing is split into two parts: the full view gives an hourly account of any selected day's agenda from start to finish, while the partial view shows a more detailed window that's only a few hours wide. You'll also find an option in MythCalendar that lets you view an entire month's worth of events at a time.

MythFM

The MythFM plug-in enables FM radio playback using the MythMusic plug-in, and offers additional media settings within the main MythTV setup dialog. Inside MythFM, you can import a radio station database, obtain signal strength readings, or select stations by their associated broadcast frequencies. Unfortunately MythFM hasn't been updated since May 18, 2005, and may not work with the latest releases of MythTV (0.19 or higher).

MythKaraoke

For those who enjoy breaking out into song whenever the mood strikes them, MythKaraoke has you covered. It plays MIDI files (.mid) or Karaoke MIDI files (.kar) and can even grab lyrics listings from KaraokeBash. However, this plug-in has also gone untended for some time, and its author states in its most recent update that MythKaraoke does not display lyrics (which alas, defeats its purpose almost entirely, except perhaps for those who obtain lyrics from other sources).

MythMail

MythMail is a simple module to allow browsing and deletion of email content from a user-specified mail server. This simple PERL script can parse MIME content and contains a few example scripts for forwarding messages from Linux-centric email applications fetchmail and procmail.
