EK Water Blocks Shows Off EKFC7970 Matrix Full Water Block

EK Water Blocks has released a water block specifically for the 7970 Matrix graphics card from Asus.

EK Water Blocks has released the EK-FC7970 Matrix, a water cooling block specifically for Asus' Radeon HD 7970 Matrix. Asus' card is built on a non-reference PCB and consequently its users were previously restricted to using the stock cooler if they didn't want to manually piece together a cooling system.

The EK-FC7970 Matrix's base and top are made of nickel plated electrolytic copper and POM respectively which cools the GPU, RAM and the VRM. The block is built using a high-flow design, meaning that it can easily be used with weaker pumps and comes with pre-installed bass standoffs for a painless and safe installation. EK Water Blocks also includes a replacement two slot I/O bracket so that buyers can remove the space-eating 3-slot bracket and potentially fit four 7970s in a standard ATX case.

Pricing for the EK-FC7970 Matrix is set at an MSRP of $143.77. The units will go on sale starting March 8 and are currently available for pre-order.

    To be able to only use 1 slot again, that would be awesome. Alas, i cant afford a 79xx anything right now much less the $150 cooler lol
