Amazon's LoveFilm Announces Disney Content Deal
Anything you can do...
Back in mid-May, Netflix UK announced that it had signed a content deal with Disney. Now it looks as though streaming rival LoveFilm has done the same. The Amazon-owned company today announced the launch of Disney Movies on Demand on LoveFilm Instant. This will allow users access to popular Disney movies like "Ratatouille" and "Wall-E" as well as classics like "Dumbo," "Sword in the Stone," and "Bedknobs and Broomsticks." Though customers won't have full access to the Disney movie portfolio (terms of the partnership were not disclosed), there does seem to be quite the collection available for streaming thanks to this partnership.
"Disney is renowned for creating world famous, quality family entertainment that parents can trust; from the earliest animations to modern classics," said Simon Morris, Chief Marketing Officer at LoveFilm. "We are thrilled to enhance our relationship with the launch of Disney Movies on Demand, and even more excited about bringing our members so much new content in the process."
The news comes hot on the heels of LoveFilm's partnership with Viacom, which will see users gain access to content from MTV, Comedy Central, and Nickelodeon. Seems the company is pretty keen on beefing up its offerings for children.
