Valve is opening reservations for the Steam Deck in Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan. It says it can do this without affecting estimates for North America, Europe and the UK.

Steam Deck production is looking bright. Valve has confirmed that all Steam Deck reservations currently in the queue, will be fulfilled by the end of this year.

Valve has made a new change to the Steam Deck's original specifications, and is now allowing either a two-lane or four-lane NVMe SSD, which will reduce storage bandwidth on some models.

Valve says production of the Steam Deck has more than doubled per week, which should hopefully drive down reservation times for future owners.

A valve employee has taken to Twitter to warn against modding the Steam Deck's M.2 drive with a physically bigger SSD.

There are other USB-C docks available, but none are made specifically for the form factor and expected needs of a Steam Deck gamer.

iFixit is now selling replacement parts for the Steam Deck, including shells, triggers and screens. Guides are also available.

Valve's Steam Deck is taken through three brutal durability tests by popular YouTuber JerryRigEverything. The console survives most of the tests, except for the screen.
