Happy 123456789 Day!

In just a few minutes, the time will be 12:34:56 and the date will be 07/08/09.* This is only going to happen once so we figure it's news worthy enough to make the site on a slow Friday.

So, what are/were you doing when the clocks read 123456789? Let us know in the comments section below! If you missed it, well, don't worry, you didn't miss much. Just the time really.

Screenshots at the ready, everyone . . .

*Note: We're going by ET here, so if you're in another time zone where this hasn't happened yet, consider this article a sticky note. Set your alarms now!

Hah! You Europeans. We Americans (with due deference to all "Americans" not of the United States), put the month first, so this is all old news. Not saying we have it right. Just saying.

See, there I go, putting my foot in my mouth. Jane, if you are using Eastern time, then you are in America, so "traditionally", Americans would do todays date as 8/7/2009. Perhaps because that's the way our digital watches display it.

I think the ISO or military standard of time is YY/MM/DD so the "real" holiday was Aug 9, 2007.

Dullness. Doesn't even have the 0.

It will be more interesting in 80 years, (and was 20 years ago as well), when 01:23:45 6th July 2089, (or for those in the USA who do the month first June 7th)

    0123456789.

All ten numbers, happens every hundred years, the format for this story misses out the 0 and happens every 10 years.

    YAWN!
