Using a 30" flat-panel display cranked up to the high-definition realm of 2560 x 1600, a Dell XPS 600 Renegade, with four NVIDIA 7800 GTX cards and an nForce 4 SLI 16 motherboard, accompanied chairman Michael Dell during his keynote address to CES. Reportedly, the system was churning out 32x anti-aliasing, and 16x anisotropic filtering.
In a prepared statement, NVIDIA executive VP Dan Vivoli said, "The ability to run today's hottest titles in extreme HD resolutions with all the eye candy turned on is absolutely amazing. Strap yourself in, because you are in for the ride of your life."
Ironically, that statement could also easily come from the financing agent who'll be helping you to purchase such a system. With 7800 GTX cards selling for up to $450 apiece on the street, representatives of Dell at the CES show floor did not deny that a fully decked-out XPS 600 Renegade could sell for as much as $7000 retail.
