EKWB's Predator AIO Can Now Be Upgraded To Work On AMD Sockets

If you've fallen in love with the EK-XLC Predator series all-in-one liquid coolers, but were disappointed that it did not come with brackets to fit on AMD sockets, cry no more. Today, EKWB announced the EK-XLC Predator AMD Upgrade Kit, which is exactly what you're expecting it to be.

Fortunately, this kit is very simple and very cheap. Rather than replacing the entire CPU block, all that this kit contains is both sides of the bracket, the rear braces, and four screws. To install it, you simply remove the standard Intel bracket, install this one, and you're good to place the block on your AMD CPU.

With this kit, the EK-XLC Predator units become compatible with AMD sockets 939, 754, 940, AMD2, AMD2+, AM3, AM3+ FM1, FM2, and FM2+. What more do you need?

The only thing to note is that the kit only works on the EK-XLC Predator Revision 1.1. It doesn't fit on the 1.0. That said, if you have a 1.0, you should send it back for the recall.

Pricing sits at $7.49 USD, and the upgrade kit is available for purchase immediately directly from EKWB. If you order it today, it will ship at the end of the week on February 26.

Now if only there was a worthy AMD CPU/APU to cool with it. FM2+ are too low power, while the FX series is too old. /coughs at AMD

I was expecting the price to be higher for this, but 7.50 is definitely a reasonable price.

It's still good though for those people still using their FX CPUs they bought and OCed years ago.

Im impressed by the low price, my only question is will the shipping charge be more than the price of the bracket?

You could always get the standard AMD brackets from EK before these, however you would have to drain the loop due to how they designed the block. Which is on purpose btw as there's also two extra interchangeable parts inside the block that can alter the efficiency.
