Thermaltake Unveils Smart DPS G Line Of PSUs

Thermaltake extended its family of Smart PSUs today with the introduction of the Smart DPS G product line.

Included with these PSUs is Thermaltake's Smart DPS G software: DPS G PC APP 2.0, DPS G Smart Power Management Cloud 1.0, and DPS G Mobile App 1.0. This software allows you to connect to a 32-bit Microcontroller Unit (MCU) inside of the power supply to monitor fan speed, power consumption, voltage distribution, and numerous other variables. It can also monitor the power that goes to the CPU and GPU.  The software will even provide you with warnings if the power supply appears to be overheating.

In addition to the software features, the PSUs also boast 80 Plus efficiency ratings, with the top end Smart DPS G Gold featuring an 80 Plus Gold rating and the Smart DPS G Bronze rated to 80 Plus Bronze efficiency.

Thermaltake claimed that the Smart DPS G Gold PSUs use only high quality Japanese capacitors, which should help to avoid power leakage, improve efficiency, and extend the lifespan of these units too. The Smart DPS G Bronze isn't as lucky, with only the main capacitors being made in Japan.

All power supplies in this product line also include over power, over voltage and short-circuit protection. The Smart DPS G Gold units are cooled by a 140 mm fan, while the Smart DPS G Bronze relies on a smaller 120 mm fan.

These power supplies feature a semi-modular design with a few essential cables hardwired into the system, and the rest of the connectors are optional. Although some prefer a completely modular setup, this method typically works just as well, as only the primary power connectors are soldered on.

That seems to be the theory on JohnnyGuru as well, that CWT is making them. Looks similar, the connector for the digital monitoring part that is, to whats on my AX860i.

But these look to be semi modular and as well only Gold rated.
