AMD Radeon HD 3800: ATI Strikes Back
STALKER
Because of its use of deferred rendering, STALKER's 3D engine only allows, if you remember, the enabling of an antialiasing based on shaders that is not really convincing in the end and is difficult to activate, since the performance level is already quite low without, hence its absence here.
For the first time, STALKER puts the Radeon HD 3870 below the 8800 GTS 640 Mo when filters are disabled. The gap doesn't exceed 5%, but it's there, except in 1920 x 1400 where both cards are on equal grounds. Regarding the 3850, we have confirmation of what we've been able to witness until now, meaning that performances in 1920 x 1440 are generally equivalent to those of the 8600 GTS... in 1280 x 1024!
