Docking Station: More Ports, Same Functionality
Like many other tablets, the Thrive can be matched up to an optional docking station. However, it only functions as a convenient way to sync media, charge, and output video without dealing with multiple cords. You don't gain any extra functionality using it, as you do with Asus' Eee Pad Transformer.
Our only complaint about the docking station is its power adapter design. Most tablets (A500, Galaxy Tab 10.1, Transformer, and Xoom) use a power brick that connects directly to the wall. However, Toshiba uses a power adapter with a built-in extension cable. Although it's not a big deal when the docking station remains stationary, it's an inconvenience to pack away for traveling.
