Acer Announces Two New Android 4.0 Phones

With IFA just around the corner, Acer hopes to get a head start on all of the major Android manufacturers with its two Android 4.0 smartphones - the Liquid Gallant and Liquid Gallant Duo. Both phones are equipped with a 4.3-inch qHD display, 1GHz MT6575 processor, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, microSD compatibility and a 5 MP rear camera.

Other specs include a 1,500maH battery, LED flash and audio-improving software. The only difference between the two phones is that the Liquid Gallant Duo features a dual SIM card design. While the specs pale in comparison to today's mobile powerhouses, they do suggest the phones will probably come in at a budget-friendly price.

While Acer revealed the phones will be available in "Gentle Black" or "Ceramic White," no specifics were given on pricing just yet. You can expect to hear more about the phones as their September release date approaches. For the full release, click here.

I like acer's build quality on monitors, the specs are pretty unimpressive but if priced right might do well in the low-mid priced market

These companies keep making the same kinds of phones, you need to stand out. There are so many plain phones coming out, phones like the Galaxy Note make a splash because they are different.

Also, how about putting Jelly Bean on these phones????

Acer products so far had always been about cheap, cheap and cheap. I've never seen an Acer product and go 'wow! nice!'. Instead its always 'hmm another laptop' and once I look at the price tag, 'wtf how did they price it so low' and relook at the specs again and 'wtf? thats cheap'.
As long as it works for 2-3 years without breaking, and cheap, this should sell.
