Satisfactory feedback for the new Eee PC has prompted Asustek Computer to fully-book Chunghwa Picture Tubes’ (CPT’s) 8.9-inch LCD panel capacity, according to industry sources. With a number of PC vendors all eager to tap into the low-cost notebook segment, industry players noted that many panel makers have started preparing to introduce the production of panels in the 10-inch range in preparation for next-generation products.
