The Founder's Program for MechWarrior Online will feature a "Legendary" package costing $120 USD.

The Founder's Program consists of three tiers which will each grant consumers early access on August 7th, ranging in price from $30 to a meaty $120.

"For in-game currency, Founders’ accounts will be credited beginning August 7th with a non-refundable amount of in-game currency equivalent to the retail cost set out in each package, and those credits may be used for in-game purchases of virtual items only," the company announced. "The closed beta and Operation Inception assets will enjoy support only in North America."
Just days ago, Piranha Games released the system specs for MechWarrior Online, reporting that the robotic shooter will require at least an Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 or an AMD Athlon II X2 245e CPU, and at least a Nvidia GeForce 8800GT or AMD Radeon HD 5600/5700, depending on your favorite team. Gamers will also need at least 4 GB of RAM and 4 GB of HDD space.
"Right now, a duo Core system is our minimum spec machine, but it is also our main focus of concern," said Russ Bullock, president of Piranha Games. "It is playable on those specifications and I have tested it myself, but it is currently very much a minimum spec type of experience running on low-detail settings. It’s obvious that a Quad Core system is the key as even the earliest Core 2 Quad systems run the game very well and it is our goal (since there are still so many out there), to optimize the Core 2 Duo systems to run much faster."

Also it looks lame as hell.
People are getting retarded with each generation all right.
How so? Because you can get some bonus c-bills?
The founder mechs are not uber powerful versions of current mechs. They are unique, mostly in looks and a 25% bonus to c-bills, that is not pay2win.
Pay2win is being able to use real money to become unkilling and oneshot everyone, as in Korean F2P. THAT is pay2win.
In no way does a bonus increase to credits means you will more easily win.
I agree with this. 120$ for 2 months of premium membership only? WOW please go DIE in a fiery crash you greedy devs
2. The founders mechs aren't just "skins", you get a huge boost to C-Bill earnings for the lifetime of the mech. I believe if I remember right it's a 25% boost, which is absolutely huge.
3. The 3 months of XP and C-Bill boost given are no different than going into League of Legends and buying XP and IP boosts. Same thing, different names. It's not a monthly subscription fee, stop labeling it as such.
4. Don't like the fact that other people have $120 to drop on their beloved franchise and you don't? SUCK IT UP and stop it with the trolling. And I hate to burst your guys' bubbles, but the Legendary $120 package has outsold the first two tiers at a pace of 2 to 1.
A new mechwarrior sounds juicy, but i'll wait for the reviews thank you very much.

i want to know if this would be able to play this game too... im really looking for a good excuse to buy it.
If you want you can buy the founder packages, no-one is forced to buy. The people who say that the devs are greedy: did you know that the devs have family as well? They have children who need to eat as well? didn't you know that??????????
I purchased the $60 elite - picked my fave mech of the 4 offered [Catapult] and will enjoy the other perks that come with it. I'm a massive Mechwarrior fan and I want to at least show some support for the dev team.
The founder mechs all have a 25% bonus that lasts as long as you play with that mech.
Playing against cpu is not so fun as playing against humans.
I myself bought the $60 dollar founder. And choose the Jenner as my founder mech. It is fast and has decent punch. Think of it as a hit and run mech.
Bottom line: if you like mechwarrior.... you could try it for free... don´t forget the founders program is limited by time.... see you in battle!
