New Portal 2 Screens, Concept Art

GameInformer finally wrapped up its month-long coverage of Valve Software's upcoming game, Portal 2. Although the magazine has provided a load of screens, concept art, and character renders over the last four weeks, they managed to score additional artwork and non-scanned screens as seen below.

But I uploaded the images into our local gallery, I noticed that two were labeled as "press demo," meaning that Valve is circulating playable code and you should expect to see exclusive screens on various game-related avenues soon.

According to Valve, the upcoming Portal sequel is set to take place "hundreds of years" after the first installment. Chel wakes up to discover an abandoned Aperture Science lab, overrun by plant life seeping in and taking control of the walls, the flooring, the electronics. GlaDOS is still around as well, and has taken over parts of the facility, putting Chel to work on new puzzles.

More info is expected to appear at E3 2010.

Half Life 3 doesn't even have its own entry on Wikipedia yet, heh. Considering there still isn't even a release date for HL2: E3, I wouldn't hold your breath for HL3 screenshots. :(

There has started to be rumours that there won't be a HL2: Ep 3, just a HL3. With how freaking long they've been working on it (or ignoring it and making more L4D games) I hope that's the case.

Hundreds of years? Huh. I was hoping for Chell to meet Freeman at some point. Maybe there's time travel.

I bet Valve is waiting to release HL3 until 3D becomes more widely adopted, and it will use it in some amazing or new way. It would make sense, since Valve is waiting an abnormally long time, when they easily could have made the game, and the HL3 or EP3 thing both have 3's in them, like 3D.
