CES 2007: TI introduces slim LED-backlit DLP RPTV with 100,000:1 contrast ratio

Texas Instruments (TI) is demonstrating a new DLP (digital light processing) rear-projection TV (RPTV) with hang-on-the wall slim design featuring LED illumination and full HD (high-definition) 1080p resolution at CES 2007 (January 8-11). This first of a kind product concept is enabled by a new TI 0.65" 1080p DLP chipset that is optimized to drive LED arrays to increase contrast ratio beyond 100,000: 1, said TI.
