Ontrack Publishes "top 10 Of Data Disasters"
Data recovery firm Ontrack is giving some insight in its most unusual data recovery cases. The top 10 list includes everything from fires, hard drives that are run over by a truck, damages caused by fluids to hard drives that are sent in with dirty socks. Our personal favorite in this list is the thought that a drop of WD40 would eliminate a squeaking noise from a hard drive.
This writer's personal experience that power outages can take a hard drive out of commission did not make it on to the list.
