Panel makers eyeing alternative backlighting technologies
Next newsTaiwan-based AU Optronics (AUO), Chi Mei Optoelectronics (CMO) and Quanta Display have reportedly participated in LED chipmaker Formosa Epitaxy's recently applied capital increase and ECB (euro convertible bond) issue, according to the Chinese-language Commercial Times and Apple Daily. The Commercial Times cited the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE) in saying that Formosa Epitaxy plans to increase its capital by NT$300 million (about US$9.2 million) and to issue a NT$500 million ECB (about US$15 million).
