Intel’s X25-E SSD Walks All Over The Competition
Streaming Read Efficiency
The streaming read benchmark also demands maximum performance from the drives, but it doesn’t request random data, rather running sequential read operations.
If you remember the throughput numbers, you’ll probably have expected these results: the Intel X25 SSDs dominate the throughput diagram, displayed this time as I/O operations per second. The two 15,000 RPM hard drives don’t do badly in this test, either.
However, the hard drives don’t stand a chance once power consumption is taken into consideration.
This results in excellent efficiency results for the X25 SSDs—again. However, Samsung’s SSD require far less power than the Intel drives in this benchmark, resulting in pretty good streaming efficiency as well.
