Asus Brings Peace To Desktops With Four New Zen-Inspired PCs

With all eyes on Computex, Asus updated numerous product lines with Zen-inspired themes. In the world of desktops, Asus announced four new desktop PCs, one of which is in the enthusiast ROG line.

The second desktop PC is the Asus K20, in a 10-liter chassis. This system will be more powerful for heavier work loads and gaming, featuring a discrete GPU from either Nvidia or AMD and a 4K UHD display. The system will also have support for the latest USB 3.1 standard and 802.11ac Wi-Fi, and Asus has claimed a very quiet 23 dB idle noise.

Asus also announced two new gaming desktops, one of which is in the ROG series. The Asus G11CB is not an ROG desktop, but it still packs a lot of power. The system optionally has up to an Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 GPU and utilizes a sixth-gen Intel Core processor. Intel's next generation of Core processors switch from the current DDR3 RAM to faster and lower-power DDR4 RAM.

In addition, the new platform supports USB 3.1 and a PCI-E x4 connection for an SSD. All of this adds up to data moving around the system faster than ever, and performance is going to increase as a result.

For a touch of style, the chassis uses 8 million color LEDs to produce three red flames. On the software side of the system, Asus has included a few applications such as Aegis II and GameAlive to provide more features for gamers.

The ROG gaming desktop release, the ROG G20CB, is very similar to the non-ROG gaming desktop above in terms of specs. The information Asus gave us about this system, however, does not list a GTX 980 GPU. Instead, it just says it will use an "Nvidia GTX GPU." It is possible that Asus is waiting to get the new GTX 980 Ti.

Currently, there is no word on the price or release date of these systems.

Don't know about peace. There's something distinctly menacing about that last one.
