OnePlus Drops OnePlus 2 Price To $349
In December, OnePlus announced that its OnePlus 2 smartphone would be available without an invite. The $389 “flagship killer” was on an invite-only system for four months before it was available to the general public. Now, the company has made the device more appealing with a price change.
The new price is $349, a $40 difference from its original cost. According to OnePlus, the price drop was inevitable.
“As the cost to produce a OnePlus 2 device has never been lower, we believe this is the right time to introduce a new change. We believe great things should be shared,” said OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei.
The change in pricing is the latest in a series of changes from OnePlus. Last month, the company announced free shipping on any order over $100. Around the same time, the invite system for the OnePlus X was also removed so that anyone without an invite could buy it.
The company has additional offers that coincide with the announcement. If you bought the OnePlus 2 in the past 15 days, the company will send you the $40 difference as a refund. Customers who buy any OnePlus device will receive a free StyleSwap Cover or OnePlus X case.
