Flash memory cards reach the next stage with finger nail-sized MicroSDHC cards hitting the 4 GB mark.

At the 3GSM World Conference in Spain, Sandisk introduced a new SD card product that will be making its way to the US next month.

Pretec today announced an 8 GB SDHC card, which the company claims is the highest capacity SD card announced so far. Pretec expects mass production of the device by the end of the year.

Sandisk has added an 8 GB version to its Extreme III line of Compact Flash (CF) cards.

Following its recent announcement of a 4 GByte 150x (22.5 MB/sec; 1x = 150 kB/s) SD card, A-Data Technology has just unveiled another high-end flash-memory product, a 200x 4 GByte MMCplus card.

Pretec claims its new 133x SD card offers more capacity than any other SD card on the market.
