Western Digital’s RE3 drive, which offers great I/O and access time performance, does well in our performance per watt test for workstation I/O workloads. Seagate’s 1.5 TB Barracuda 7200.11 provides only disappointing I/O performance and rather high power consumption, consequently losing this benchmark to many of its competitors.
