Extreme Edition History
The new Extreme Edition 965 is the eighth processor in the series. The first models were launched for Socket 478 motherboards, while the Socket 775 generations allowed for transitioning this high-end desktop family into dual-core devices. It's easy to memorize the processor pricing: All Extreme Editions cost $999 per device when purchased in quantities of 1,000.
