Archos, a firm best known for its affordable Android tablets, will launch three smartphones powered by Google's mobile platform in May.
According to images and details obtained by Hi-Tech, one of the devices is a Galaxy S3 look-alike in the form of the Archos 48 Platinum, as seen above. The flagship device has a 4.8-inch IPS display with a 800 x 1,280-pixel resolution and is powered by a MediaTek MT6589 chipset with a 1.7 GHz quad-core processor. The smartphone, which will run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, will be priced at around $335.
Another device in Archos' upcoming slate is the Archos 52 Titanium, a 5.2-inch smartphone running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Although its price has yet to be unveiled, it'll be a more affordable option with a 480 x 800-pixel display and a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, as well as 512 MB of RAM.
Joining the aforementioned phones is the low-end Archos 35 Carbon. It offers a 3.5-inch 320 x 480-pixel screen, a single-core 1 GHz processor, 512 MB of RAM and 512 MB of internal storage, which can be expanded through a microSD card. It'll also run on Ice Cream Sandwich and will retail for about $120.

megamanx00 O_o I might be interested in the 48 model. We'll see when it comes out. Might just wait for a nexus 5 though :pReply -
jimmyjohnz I'll wait for reviews before I make any decisions about these phones, Archos doesn't have a very good track record.Reply -
Uberragen21 Not too shabby, until I heard they were running a cortex A7 processor. Ehh, really? At least run a cortex A9...Reply -
Sorren999 That's more of a copy of the Note 2 then the S3. It actually looks exactly like a Note 2 right down to the stylus or at least what the end of it looks like assuming this one doesn't actually have one.Reply -

anononon Archos for ya, show up a day late and a dollar short..Reply
Copying obvious flagship designs aside- I am willing to bet they will stand by their moto- "promise everything, deliver nothing" Their track record is terrible, and they are well known for short cuts and cheap design. Buyer beware -
Non-Euclidean I find it a stirring tribute to their customers that they included a photo representative of their tablets target demographic.Reply -
masterasia I've owned a couple Archos devices in the past and their development team is always hard at work pushing updates, but I wouldn't mess with them again after going all Nexus.Reply
You can't beat the pure Android experience of the Nexus devices. Just wait for the Nexus 5.
