Activision Unveils Black Ops 2 Zombie Mode in New Trailer

If you've played any of Activision's Call of Duty games online, you've probably already tried out one of the many popular zombie modes available in the series. Naturally, it was expected Activision would release another for its upcoming Black Ops 2. Now the company has finally unveiled the highly-anticipated mode with new details and a bloody new trailer.

The new trailer shows off one of the game's three new modes, Tranzit mode. This mode allows players to freely roam an open environment either by foot or by bus. While roaming, players will be able to salvage items from the environment to create weapons, fortifications and tools that will help them on their journey through the post-apocalyptic zombie world. Like its predecessors, Tranzit mode is playable by up to four players.

The second mode detailed in the reveal is Survival mode, which is basically what we've seen before in the previous Call of Duty Zombie games. In survival mode, you and up to three other players will be confined to one of the areas found in Tranzit and will have to survive as long as possible against hordes of the undead.

The final mode is Grief mode, which uses the same areas as Survival but supports up to eight players in two four-man teams. The goal is for your team to survive longer than the other. While you won't be able to kill the opposing team, you can strategically use the environment to help feed the opposing team to the zombies.

Unlike the previous Zombie modes, the Black Ops 2 Zombies mode will utilize the game's multiplayer engine, meaning you'll have access to things like improved matchmaking, stat tracking, leaderboards and customizable games. You can expect to hear more details surrounding the Zombie mode as the Black Ops 2 November 13th release date approaches.

This isn't COD hate or anything, but today I tried MW3 on Steam for the free weekend deal they have going on and started literally getting a nauseous feeling.

I'm not sure what's up with that game, the field of view seems incredibly small, and the textures, and everything else looked very muddy\blurry. I had the game on the highest settings it was pretty gross for a modern game. Last Call of Duty game I enjoyed was the first modern warfare version; ending was dramatic and fun.

I don't see the point of launching a COD every year, with the same engine since COD4 !!! It just divides more the community and players... And a zombie mode for this cod, really? Just reminds me a copycat form left4dead1/2...

    Where's the innovation?

got to hate it when a game makes you sick for no reason...
most games on a new engine do that to me, well... every 3d game does for a few hours than i get over it... never understood what that was about.

if they are going to make so much content, and occupy so much of the disc for the zombies mode, why not branch zombies of into its own game?

i honestly dont believe if they spun it off, it would work at all, i think only valve could make a game like that and people love it, i mean what did left for dead 1 have in it, 4 hours of randomized gameplay or something?

there is only so long i could kill zombies with other people before i get up, yell done, and never look back.

I personally think that the first Black Ops had the best Call of Duty story. And I like the fact that there's a regular campaign and a zombie-based semi campaign. Also, I'm sure that they got this idea from a flash game called "The Last Stand" that was released like back in 06.
