Thursday A-DATA Technology revealed a new small form factor HDD that gives portable storage a nice twist. Called the SH02, this 2.5-inch drive is "stylishly crafted" in 3D chic imprint patterns with special surface finishing. Although the drive isn't "universal" or comes packed with a popular PC game as seen with other external drives this week, users will definitely look a bit less geeky toting around this nifty portable HDD.
"Using the advanced IMF (In-Mold Foil) technology, SH02 beautifully presents itself with sensory appeals that can be vividly felt not only visually, but also through the touch of fingertips," the company said. "The same surface finishing makes SH02 resist to scratches, abrasion and annoying fingerprints as well, keeping the look nice and new all the time as if it is bought for the first day."
The SH02 will come in three flavors: white (vanilla), black (chocolate), and pink (strawberry), each sporting a unique design that "glitters with sophistication." As for storage capacities, consumers have a choice of 320 GB and 500 GB. The SH02 connects to a PC via a USB 2.0 port, and comes packed with HDDtoGo, OStoGo, and a 60-day trial of Norton Internet Security 2010.
Currently pricing isn't available, however 500 GB portable drives from A-DATA linger between $80 and $90 over on NewEgg.
