Sony's Xperia Tablet Z Confirmed for Japan Next Week

Following a rumor that suggested Sony is working on an Xperia Z tablet alongside its smartphone counterpart, a Japanese carrier has mistakenly confirmed the former device's existence.

Despite DoCoMo immediately removing the confirmation showcased on its website, Android Authority managed to get a glimpse. The site said it'll have the tablet in-store until January 27. It's not clear what that exactly means, though; it may be an exclusive for DoCoMo or a wider launch will occur on that date.

The tablet, which is expected to be revealed by Sony on January 22, is rumored to sport a 10.1-inch full HD display. It's apparently powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, as well as housing 2 GB of RAM.

Also said to be featured is 2 GB of internal storage, an 8.1-megapixel rear camera, 2.2-megapixel front-facing snapper and a 6,000mAh battery. It'll purportedly run on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.
