Verizon Confirms Google Tablet Running Android
Verizon has confirmed that it is partnering with Google to bring an Android-powered tablet to the market.
Verizon chief executive, Lowell McAdam yesterday told the Wall Street Journal that the wireless carrier had partnered with Google and is working on a tablet that will compete with Apple's iPad.
Speaking in an interview with WSJ, McAdam spoke of Verizon's business relationship with Google, dropping hints about the next project they'll be working on.
"What do we think the next big wave of opportunities are?" Mr. McAdam said. "We're working on tablets together, for example. We're looking at all the things Google has in its archives that we could put on a tablet to make it a great experience."
Though neither Google nor Verizon would comment further, Bloomberg managed to get some details out of Verizon spokesperson Marquett Smith. Smith told Bloomberg that the company would announce more details later this week but not before revealing that the tablet would be based on Google's Android operating system.

Also, does anyone know what kind of flash storage actually goes into our mobile devices? Say we get a tablet with 32GB of flash, how does current mobile device flash storage (iphone/pod/pad) compare to a modern SSD? We know that HDD's are often the limiting factor in our computers, and that an SSD can radically boost performance, but do our current mobile devices suffer the same? -

Anything short of a SD (or microSD) would be a fail for storage just like the iJunk. -
Kahless01 probably be easier to build a low cost model with 8-16GB model and put 1-2 sdcard slots to expand it as we see fit. and build a 64-128gb for people who dont want to fool with the cards, but still allow for the sd card slots. no regular hdd. at least 720P capable screen with displayport and/or hdmi out. tegra2Reply -
