New iMac and Mac Mini? Not Happening Soon, Says Apple

Upcoming Apple products tend to be the subject of much speculative talk, but the Cupertino company has made a rare rumor-squashing comment.

With much of Apple’s most popular products receiving either refreshes or completely new designs, such as the iPod Nano, iPod Touch, iPhone 3G, Cinema Display, MacBook and MacBook Pro, some are still wondering if Apple still has something in store before the end of the year.

Apparently not happening, as Apple spokesman Bill Evans told Macworld, “Our holiday line-up is set.”

It’s not like Apple to come out and confirm or deny rumors, but in this case it’s clear that the company is making sure no one is holding off on a purchase to just wait for something better. So for those of you looking to add a Mac to the top of your (or someone else’s) desk in time for holiday season, there’s no point in waiting any longer.

Or, ... They tell you nothing new is going to hit the stores so they can surprise you with the new stuff just a week before x-mass and because your dumb enough to trust executives you bought your machine way over priced and under spec'd but knowing apple it will let you get some in mail rebate even though the rebate will never make up for the losses.
So you will sell your mac on ebay and run to the apple store to buy the newest greatest mac ever.

Ohw and euhm ... i am a mac owner i love my ppc driven macs and i will love any ppc system ... so dont byte my flames !

  • I am not surprised at all. Why would they sell upgradable systems when they can sell laptops with replacement as the only upgrade path? This is consistent with their environmentally unfriendly strategy.
